Rear drivers side axel is bent

Just need help finding a place to get a new axel, the rear of the car has had the 5 disc conversion done to it. If anyone knows where to get a replacement axel besides a junkyard please let me know.

I assume you mean "5 lug conversion". Go to the junk yard and pull a passenger side axle from an Aerostar van, or a driver's side axle from a Ranger pickup. This is the absolute cheapest, and easiest source of 28 spline 5 lug axles for your car. Also, since most of the donor vehicles are open differential, it's super easy to pull the axle out.

buying a new one over a used one will not suit you better. So long as the used one does not have any bearing grooves on the smooth part you are ok. If you are adament about not pulling one, go to the corral classifieds. People have them up for sale all the time. othewise, start calling ford places for an aerostar pass side axle, or a drivers side ranger one like already stated.

I don't think there's anything wrong with used axles, especially out of an Aerostar van, and as far as tools are concerned, all you need is a lug wrench to take the wheel off the wreck (if there IS a wheel on it that is), and a small socket to pull the differential cover off. The axle slides right out after you knock the C-Clip off inside the differential.

If you are dead set on buying a set of new axles, they will be custom for your car because it was originally a 4 lug setup, and you should be able to order them from any Mustang oriented speed shop - just look in the yellow pages.
