Rear End Girdle.

Thinking of buying a rear end girdle. (diff cover with preloads for bearings)
Which one should I go out and buy?
Ford Racing?
Trick Flow?
Moroso?
Summit Racing house Brand?
TA?
Which one do you own and how do you like it?

funny you should say that I was just searching ebay motors and I came across the TA girdle.

I have the Summit Brand, they were out of the Trick Flow Girdle when I placed my order so they gave me that one instead, I like it. I did have to grind down one of the support ribs as a bolt would not fit in.

The trickflow girdle looks like it has long studs that are the perloaders. The Ford Racing and moroso look like they have allen key studs with a nut locker. Is this the case?

the FRPP has allen key studs that have a large flat landing on a ball and socket that is the actual part that preloads the caps.and a hex locking nut. nice piece comes with mounting hdw(not stainless). doesn't have magnetic fill and drain plugs like some

Ok now that I have asked which is better and I guess i'm getting the answer that they are all the same besides the fact you get a fill and drain plug in the rear which i really like what is it going to do for me. Why do you need to load the bearings? Does this prevent damage to the gears themselves?

I was going to buy one just for the drain plug.....I would change my diff fluid way more often just cause it would be alot quicker.

you load the bearings, because under launch if a cap goes, your carrier gets spit strait back. the girdle supports this area some. besides, the girdles look so cool you're sure to gain at least 10 hp lol.

Well I ordered the T/A girdle. Now I have to finish the rebuild.

I have one on the Cobra. Don't use it with a gasket, because it will leak. Just use good old RTV. I wouldn't wast your money though.

I bought the Ford Racing Rubber Gasket when I ordered my Cover, it worked great!

I use "The Right Stuff" I put a nice bead around the cover and wait about an hour than fill the diff. A rubber gasket should work fine but I wouldn't waste my time with the cork ones

yes I have seen how well cork worked with my valve covers and my pan gasket. Now they are nice rubber ones. I will just use RTV silicone like I always do. It hasn't let me down yet.
