rear end might be goin out?

First thing you need to do is get under the car and look on the back end of your muffler (the ends facing the back of the car.....DURMP!) and the area around it. Check for fresh oil and/or grease. If there is any, it is probably gear oil which means you're differential has been leaking oil. If it is, it might not be too late to save it, probably just a pinion seal. Thats what happened to my car, but i crawled under it and caught the problem before it got bad. Cost me $100 for a new seal installed at the dealership. Thats what sucks about the diff. oil. If its leaking, you'll never know until its too late. That is unless of course you already know to look for it. Check that, but if you actually "feel" anything when it makes the sound, just a jerk or whatever, it could just be a loose or missing bolt in the tranni mount. First order of business should be to get under there and look around.

I dont think its where the tranni is connected to the tranni. If it were, you would feel the jerk directly underneath you instead of more towards the back. DO NOT take you're car to the track while its doing that. As a matter of fact, be safe and dont drive it anymore than you have to until you find out what's wrong.

i called my mechanic and took it to him today and we put it on the lift and first thing i looked at was the driveshaft where it is connected to the rear end well all of the bolts where only in there hand tight i loosened them up with my fingers. so we took all of them out and put lock tight on them. well i drove out of there and it was fine. until i got a little farther (it was dark by then) i did a litttle burn out and it started making that same noise so 2marrow i guess i will have to crawl under there and see if the have loosened up again hopefully that is the same problem. do you know if they are suppose to have a lock washer on them because mine doesnt and was wondering if they are suppose to? and if so do you think it would be a good idea to put lock washers on the bolts? thanks for all your help

I dunno if you need washers but that lock-tight might not have had enough time to dry either. Try it again and this time give it 24 hours before any hard driving.
