im getting a wa wa wa wa, or wump wump type noise coming from the rear, this happens all the way up to like 50 mph and then seems to quiet down,
any chance this could just be a rear wheel/axle bearing or more likely a carrier bearing. If it is a wheel bearing is there any way of telling other than by removal and visually checking it.BTW the noise happens on acceleration and deceleration.

could be a screwed tire or worn gears or wheel berring or what u mentioned there are lots of things that would cause that noise. Rear wheel drive does have it's disadvantages for making noises. mine makes the same kinda noist but it's not bad at all (yet) But I think it's just the drown from the flowmasters at like 1800-2300 rpm. That might even be all your hearing.sounds like woooooooow wooooooow wooooooow wooooooooow. or sumthin like that.

what #2 Roland69 says is very true but a little more info or a good signature see mine below can help us answer questions more indebt. example do you have factory gears or upgrade 3.55-3.73-4.10s who installed and other upgrades even year model of vehicle and miles on rear end, vehicle ect.....

92 LX 5 speed, bone stock car has 134 k,dont know the mileage on the rear as I recently swapped it out, drum to drum,it was out of an 89 vert. The reason I swapped it out was that the original rear was doing the same type noise except it was happening only on acceleration and got worse the faster you would go,after the swap it happens on acceleration and deceleration and seems to quiet after reaching 50 mph.BTW both ratios are 308s
