Rear End Question

I currently have the stock rearend in my 66 Stang with I6. I am a little confused about the new rearend thing. Is the stock I6 rear end the same as the V8 except for the center section and axles. If so, can I replace the center section to an 8" one along with the axles?

Any help would be appreciated.

The rearend in a V8 car is completely different from those that came in the I6 vehicles and not one part is interchangeable. You will have to procure and entire 8" or 9" rearend complete with brakes. The year of your vehicle will determine your options for donor vehicles.
