I was looking through some old pics I had and I came across my old 95 F150 that I lifted and had on 38's. Man, I miss that truck. Anyways, it got me thinking. I had an 8.8 in the rear with 31 spline axles, 4.88 gears and an Air Locker. The front was a Dana 44 reverse rotation with the same set up. I loved the air lockers b/c I could just flip a switch and I had full lock up on the diffs and when I was done I could free them up for street driving. My question is: Since air lockers can stand the abuse of some pretty nasty off raod punishment, has anyone heard of them being used in a drag race application? I mean, I would think that if they can turn tires on 500+ HP rigs running bead locks and 49" tires why wouldn't they work in a drag race application? And if not air lockers, then cable operated lockers. Just curious, thats all.
