Got a good deal on a pretty clean notch. Other then a couple of small floor board rust spots the only real problem is the rear frame rails they are pretty rotted. Can anyone post pictures of their repairs? It’s the last 12 inches or so of the frame on each side. I don’t want to buy full frame rails if I don’t have to.

I can’t believe that with rear race rails that bad, that the front strut towers aren’t just as bad.

Looks like he's already gone through the engine bay. I see smoothed over rails and fresh paint.

I can't see the rest of the rail, but i'd be looking at doing new rear frame rails back there. I just wouldn't want to mess around trying to weld good metal to rusty metal.

It’s looking like that’s the path I’m headed down. I would just hate to have to buy two entire frame rails when I only need the last foot of it.

My rails were good, just the floor pan above the rails was bad.

The repairs were basically shock mount to rear bumper on both sides.

My personal opinion would be to just replace the whole rail. I think it'd be easier in the long run vs just patching what you think needs it. I believe that you'll inevitably find something you weren't planning on and more work would have to be done.

Yup gotta give a hand for this one! Teriffic to see people stepping up to real stuff where it counts. Invest in those welders, fellas :D !

I will throw in with BP and If not needing the whole rail I do hope you relish the work of cutting and prepping as you're going to have to munch a fair amount out before finding something objectively good to weld. Certainly from the impression the photos give off anyway!

With the amount of meat left after prep it could definitely be prudent to just consider full rail replacement from the get go and tackle the job as such rather than realising it halfway through and having to retreat and regroup. Would make your life easier and end result better I think! Worthwhile here.

I'm pulling all the way for you on getting her looking street ready :nice:

thanks for the encouragement, I’m looking forward to getting started. It’s seeming to be very difficult finding any info online on replacing the rear rails. Lots of info on the front not much on the rear.
