i am in the process of reassembling my 69 fastback after repaint. I am currently installing the quarter windows. The rubber is installed the window frame is next. My concern is the gap between the rubber which has a screw hole and the body which appears to have an attachment hole. The distance between these two parts is about 1 1/2 inches much to large to close with the screw. What fills the gap?

See pictures attached.

Anyone with a 69 that could take a picture would help
Unable to up load pictures at this time standby

Really hard to tell by those pics .There is two sets of holes ,the inside oblong holes mount the rubber and the outside holes mount the chrome trim .Are you in the right set of holes ?

If i remember right ,the lower part of the quarter gasket has a metal strip imbedded in the rubber and that holds the mounting screws .It is possible the mounting screws are not in the correct place in the rubber ,you know the aftermarket stuff I have had to slot the holes to make it fit correctly before but usually not a lot .Are the holes filled with hardened putty ?

I would have had the only rear quarters that opened in. Very lucky that I did not glue the rubber tho the drip rail channel.
