Have a little leak at the back of my Tranny.

Just wondering if the rear seal on a Top Loader can be replaced without having to take the tranny apart? Can it be replaced while in the car?

What oil should be run in a Top Loader, same as the rear Diff?

Thanks.

Yea, you can change the rear seal on a Toploader without dissassembly. If it's a small block Toloader, the seal is the same one used in the C-4's. Just pull the driveshaft and then the seal. Toploaders use gear oil. Something like 85W-90 or 140. Fill thru the plug on the right side and till it just starts to run out the hole.
