id like to make my own, but im not too crafty and a little lazy when it comes to stuff like that

what are some of u guys runnin for RSD? where were they purchased? also, guys who made their own, how much did it cost for a DIY?

I just bought one off Ebay for $85 but the stupid F'er has not shipped it yet. Bought it on the 6th.

wow! thats no good!

i just know a few places with their "Black" carpet isnt really black, its more of that charcoal color... just lookin to get some ideas from the guys 'round here...

11 days out, I'd be filing a complaint with PayPal and reporting it with eBay, unless the auction said specifically that there was a certain wait time. I'm sure that $85 isn't enough to break the bank, but I don't play nice with people who steal my money.

Jimmy, got your lazy butt to HD or Lowes, buy some cheap plywood and some black carpet from WalMart and be done with it... Once you figure out how you want to attach it... the other materials are like $40 (20 for a sheet of plywood, $10 for carpet, and misc adhesive, fasteners, etc...

Well I fabbed my own out of a couple of pieces of plywood I had lying around the shop. The only thing I had to buy was a roll of carpet which was under $20 and about 1/2 hour of my time. These places charging $100 are completely out of there mind. Thats almost 2 nitrous bottle fills. LOL

Another DIY. I borrowed a couple of ideas. I have the seatback able to fold down for pass-through storage. I also used piano hinges to have hinged storage under the seat (thanks to Aaron for that idea).

Sorry for the sucky pic but it's all I have. I took it just to show the hinge situation. The piano hinges are hidden but you can see the outline of the center lid.

Im going to do something about it, Ive just about given up on Ebay the shipping from there except for a few times usually sucks a lot. Id rather pay more then to deal with this at least its awhile before I get the car out but Id still like to have my frigging $hit. Ive sent 2 e-mails w/ no reply.

Making it isn't tough. I just used cardboard to make a template of one side of the area normally occupied by the 'butt' region of the seat (how it tapers outwards from the seat back forwards). Add the template to the width measurement taken at the back edge (where the stock seatback meets the seat cushion).

yeah I am going to be making mine soon. I just got my big carboard box for the template. and I also think I am going to mount my nitrous bottle to it.

if i ever get time i plan on making one myself.

i would think the best way to make a template, would be to use a big sheet of paper. that way you can get the conture of the sides, then transfer it to plywood or whatever you making it out of. and space the 2 templates apart the same sizes as whats in the car.

or if you have some stiff wire, you can mold it to the sides and just trace it to paper or cardboard. test fit and trim as you need to. then transfer it to the material you plan buuilding it out of.
