I have a 65 that I am restoring. I went to replace the shocks and found that the nuts were rusted to the shock. I was able to remove the lower nuts, by holding the shock body with channel locks. Can anyone tell me how to remove the upper nut. Right now the whole thing just spins when I try to loosen the nut.
Thanks

I was in the same boat...

I did my rear shocks two nights ago (And darn glad I did...the stiff ride is much better than bottoming out all over the place). Just as Ronstang said, get a buddy underneath with plumbing wrench, strap wrench or something to hold that down. Don't be afraid to use penetrating oil, wd-40 or something of the sort to get all the rust off.
