hello everyone, ive got a question i have a 86 lx and there are a set of shocks going from the frame to the axle on a hozizontal angle. what do these do? is there anything better to replace them with?

Those are quad shocks. They control lateral movements of the axle....aka wheel hop.

Autozone sells gabriel replacements for $25 each. No need to get fancy with them, they do their job well.

Some people eliminate them when they do control arms, but if you find you still have wheel hop, it may help to keep them

You should replace them if you have stock suspension....like said above autozone sells them cheap......I changed my whole rear suspension over the winter to upr upper and lower tubular contol arms and i been driving it for a month now with no wheel hop issues..so i just never replaced them i left them out
