Rear speakers? 86 convertible?

I have recently wanted to replace the stock speakers. i just noticed that i cant hear any sound from the back. are there even speakers in the rear????
if there arent... has any one added speakers to the rear? how hard would it be?
also, anyone know what size speakers fit the front dash holes???

stupid FORD..... but u gotta love mustangs.........

Ur fronts are 3.5in, not sure on the rear setup...

THERE ARE SPEAKERS IN THE BACK U HAVE TO REMOVE THE WHOLE PANEL TO GET TO THEM THEY ARE IF IM NOT MISTAKEN A SMALL CIRCLE SPEAKER

Actually they have the same as a Notch. I want to say 5x7, like hatcbacks but they maybe a tad bigger. They may just not work.. Look at those vent holes above the rear armrest, thats them.

Fox Mustang Convertible Rear Speakers

The rear speakers in my 1986 mustang conv look exactly like these:

They are fairly shallow and mount into a special bracket behind the carpet in the corner of the rear quarter panels next to the rear seat bench.

They are weird speakers and haven't been able to find better aftermarket replacements. Crutchfield and CarToys don't have anything like them. They mount with screws from behind and have a thick foam ring around the front that contacts the bracket. Aftermarket speakers screw in from the front and contact the car on the back of the speaker flange.

Let me know if you find a replacement speaker.
