rear springs bushing removal????

I would like to remove the front bushing on the rear leaf springs to replace them with some poly ones. The rear bushings just popped out. The front one seems to be in there really good. Are they pressed in or vulcanized to the the spring or somthing? How do I get the front bushing out? Thanks for all your help. This forum rocks!!!

You can have some one with a hyd press, press them out, or use a torch to melt the bushing and they would come right out. Just a few options

If you burn them out, make sure you are outside. It's nasty even outside!

My local shop quit doing it for me, so I went home to do it myself.

The best way I came up with was to spray the bushing with wd-40 between the loop and the bushing, put a punch in the bolt hole and it came out by beating the punch with a 5lbs hammer.

Takes 4 to 5 good swings.
