I am trying to stiffin up my 99 cobra and I was looking at front and rear strut tower braces.I was wondering how the rear tower braces get installed?Do they bolt to the wheel well or do you cut a hole in the well ans attach them.I havent taken apart my trunk yet but from the pic I am having trouble figuring it out.

I use the Kenny Brown shock tower brace on my 03 Cobra. It is a simple install. The two holes on the ends go over and are secured by the top shock absorber mounting nut. Then you just mark where to drill the two holes for each side. Drill them out and reassemble. You can secure the bottom plate to the trunk floor but I found it unnecessary. Some also weld them in but I thought this was overkill as well. The results were very noticeable. Car used to skitter around corners when pushed hard, now it tracks flat and stable. :flag: Look here as well for pic of it installed. http://home.flash.net/~ivc1/cobra/kbstb.html

I have the KB rear shock brace welded. If you have coilovers, or ever think to be getting them, WELD the brace in because the hardware can hit the coils. The weld is also tighter for the suspension and will never loosen up, plus the weld looks better and you can spray paint the welds with black paint and it looks the car came with the piece built in.
