so today i got in my car and started to drive down my street and i hit a man hole cover and i heard this noise that sounded like my exhaust was loose and hitting the rear axle..so i went home and checked the hangers and everything seemed tight..just poking around i grabbed the rear sway bar and pulled it and the passenger side of it was not connected to anything..it snapped clean..i have no idea how.. so my question is..what is a good replacement??..how hard is it to swap in a new one..and what other parts might i need?? I saw in late model restorations catalog a 1994-1998 cobra rear sway bar that said it would fit all 1994-1998 mustang..is this a good choice?? please help..

its a pretty common thing.... I replaced mine with a Steeda HD swaybar. It'll take you a whole 10 min to change it out.

I got the Steeda HD and it's a solid piece. Considerably thicker than the stock one.

Same thing happened to me last year, I ended up buying one from summit, "suspension techniques" . The bar is a solid sway bar unlike the stock ones, it went on perfect and controls body roll much better than stock. The price wasn't bad either. Just my 2 cents.

When looking for a sway bar the larger the diameter the better, not necessarily whether the bar is solid or not. Most of the forces are carried by the outer 90% of the bar.

Really? You are like the second guy that I've ever known of (besides immediate family) that is a Hawver... not too many of us around.

Steeda works the best with Ford to produce the 'best' aftermarket pieces. Their stuff may cost more in some cases, but it is top notch product.

+1 on the Steeda HD sway bar
