rear upper control arm bushing question

im gonna put standard lowers and double adj. upper control arms on my car.....my uppers didint come with axle housing bushings......what do you guys reccomend to replace the stock ones with??? polyurethane?

I like the urethane myself, it gives just a little, but keeps things tight and in there place. I have seen a few people use the solid mounts, but more with the urethane.

Be aware, they are pretty tough to do your first time. I used some heat and a puller. It was not easy, but I have done more difficult things.

Simple answer - one vote for Polyurethane.


EDIT: I would consider getting the lowers with an adjustable spring perch. That is unless you plan to do coil overs, or already have them. That is the only thing I wish I would have done different to date.

Im getting the stanadrd MM lowers and Steeda uppers, is this a good choice, street car it is.

91lx I did some research and found that the steeda lowers are hard to beat for street cars. Read an article on www.stangpro.com called "The strong arm" and you'll see why.

well i basically got the the uppers and lowers for basically free, so i couldnt refuse im pretty sure this setup will be pretty good

anybody happen to know the energy suspension part number for this? i looked up their website and on summit but dont seem to find it....all i find is the axle pivot bushings for f150

try Holcomb Motorsports,Dallas Mustang,Late Model Restoration Supply(50resto.com).....they all carry the axle end bushing for the uppers.....made by HPM

When i asked everybody told me use normal rubber ones cause the polys didn't give enough in that spot

And yeah its a ****ing pain in the ass. Ive been trying to get one out for like a month damn thing just won't let go. MM sells a puller but I can't see how that would work i made up my own and i bent a 5/8 piece of all-thread and there puller looks small in the pic on their site

I used a sawz all... worked pretty good. I cut each at three places, then pried it out. I used poly from 5.0Resto.

ford racing sells a axle install kit that comes with the bushings in polyurethane....i heard energy susp. makes them...most likely be picking these

After like 3 months ****ing with the driver side bushing I finially got it out tonight

Anybody got any ideas on how to get the new one in now lol
