Hey guys I got another one for ya. Going into the stock Interior Rear view Mirror there are three wires: Black, Black/Green, Black/White. Can anyone please tell me what each wire is?

I ask this because my Girlfriend bought me a new Mirror that has a compass, auto tints and also displays the outside temp. This mirror requires a Constant 12v, a switched 12v, and a ground. I have the new mirror installed and working fine but would like to know what the stock wires are so that maybe I could re-arrange the pins to meet the specs of my new mirror.

Thanks in advance

I cant post pics because I already hav my new mirror installed. If you look on the back of your mirror there is a wire bundle that is plugged into the back of it. There is a seven pin plug that plugs into the miror. Of these seven pin only three are used. The wires are the colors I described.

You must have a convertible with the map lights in the mirror.

Light Green - orange stripe: monitored +12V
Black - white stripe: dome light feed (+12V when a door is open)
Black: ground

Ohhh, didn't know that hard tops didn't have map lights. With the Light green wire what do you mean by monitored +12v?

Hard tops don't have them in the mirrors (probably part of the dome lamp assembly).

Monitored 12V:
Rather than directly from the battery, this 12V source is controlled by a timer module. If you accidently leave a door open, the trunk open, or the dome light on, the timer will turn off the 12V source after a few minutes (not sure of the exact time) to prevent discharge of your battery.

Digging up a 20 year old thread, lol. I have a 99 convertible and the 3 wires above are there and they are all disconnected at the plug. I bought new pin connectors to attach to wires and put in the plug but I don’t know which colour goes to which pin in the plug. Does anyone have a pic of a square plug( newer ones have a straight plug not square) with the wire colours on it?

Looks like black/white is on the bottom by itself.
