sup guys... i was thinking of what i would need to upgrade if i get a s/c and the rearend came up.... and i have a ton of questions.

first off alot of the questions are vocabulary... lol

whats a c-clip eliminator?

whats the differences between Eaton, Auburn, and Detriot locker rearends?

what rearend axle setup gets rid of your ABS, or your traction control....

whats spline numbers mean... i do know that 31 spline rearend is good... just dont know what it means

final question. whats a good rearend setup to hold 400-450hp and be a daily driver with trips to the track every month or so...

THANKS guys.

I'm would actually like to have some of those answered myself. I'm trying to do my research on the same info. Sorry but I can only answer one of your questions. Splines are the slits that are on the ends of the axles. The more splines you have the stronger your axles will be.

Don't know what you guys have figured out from modular depot yet, so I'll give a few inputs.

I'm not really sure exactly what a c-clip eliminator is, but the stock axles are c-clip. Once you get to a certain ET, you are required by NHRA to run axles with c-clip eliminators, so I deduced that the c-clip eliminator axles are stronger. I believe that the c-clips are an extra brace or something that holds the axle up, but may weaken it after so much power is added to the car...

The spline number of the axles is an indicator of how much abuse the axle can take without breaking. I assume that you have to match the axle and differential spline count, but I could be wrong. Also, when you set up your rear end, you should get the individual axles where an individual axle can handle the maximum amount of torque that your car makes. That way, your axles can handle 200% of the torque of your car, so they shouldn't ever (theoretically) break. Moser Engineering has a decent website concerning axles.
