I have been having this groan sound coming from the rearend sometimes when i turn sharp. well i didn't think anything of it cause the next turn it went away. i have a 5 speed with factory gears and everything too. today it turned into a parking lot then the spot and bolth time it groaned and moaned and started making this poping sound. my buddy said his did that same symptoms before his rearend went out. he didn't say if it was the limited slip thing or what. i'm thinking of getting a KB supercharger and upgrading the rearend anyway to 31 spliners and i'm not sure what rearend unit i want to use. i was told that auburns aren't very good. anyway if anyone knows what is actually wrong with the rearend and comments on what would be some good axles and limited slip piece to install. thanks in advance

it's your limited slip. a limited slip rebuild kit ( about 45 bucks) and some friction modifier will fix it.

well i'm more of an engine supention guy so i don't know much about gears, trans, or rearends. but anyway you think a stock rearend would hold up to a 9psi KB kit. cause i'm already working on the other short block to replace the one in it. cause i have heard about the 9psi kit blowing the stock bottom end out over time. anyway thanks for the help

by the way 03, how do you like your kenne bell. i'm waiting on mine to come in and i can't wait. i ordered a 8psi and also the 9psi pulley, i don't know if i want to put the 9 on there cause thats pushing the limits of the roating assembly.
