Rebates applied on top of X Plan pricing?

Greetings, all!

I did search but couldn't come up with anything specific. Do X Plan purchases also allow for current rebates? Alternatively, has anyone ever gotten a current rebate on a car they ordered?

I got a $2K rebate on top of an A plan, but I did not order the car.

i just purchased a 08 mustang on the xplan and got the rebate on top of it.

You still get a rebate when you order, its just the rebate thats available at the time of delivery..Sometimes more, sometimes less...You can lock in price and equipment when you order, just not rebates..

I bought my '03 GT brand new in 2004. After X plan and rebates, it was under $20k.

I just picked up my 08 GO GT/CS today, and yes you can get rebates on top of X-plan, but like someone said before they cannot be locked in. When i ordered the car in january it was $1500, but when i finally signed for the car it was only $1000, kinda sucks. But hey remember to order a brochure from Ford, most (mine did) come with a $750 EXTRA rebate in the back which can be applied with the current offer. Although the dealer didnt really want to give me the $750 on top of X-Plan in the end they did.

Either way good luck, and i am sure you will love your custom order from Ford mine went PERFECT!

I've never heard of the extra rebate in the brochure either.

Its a private offer from Ford im sure, prompted by a customer going on the ford direct website or something..Or it could have been mailed via Consumer Trac from the dealer itself..

ford sends me rebate information all the time, trying to get me to buy another mustang. i even got the 2008 model year line up of 3D folding paper models.

shortly after i got my mustang, they sent me some orbits chewing gum to clean up the perma grin!

I'm in the final stages of locating a car. Well, actually I found the car and emailed the dealer. I'm waiting to hear back from them on a final price.

This will be my first X plan purchase. The MSRP is 30355. Does anyone know what the X plan price will be, roughly, before I apply the rebates? (I think it's 1500-2000 on a lease.)

Dealer got back to me.

A Ford Red Carpet lease on this car at X-Plan is as follows:

3 year, 15K miles per year, $380.65 + tax per month with inceptions ($818.08) out of pocket to start. If you want to roll the inceptations in and make it a "sign and drive", it raises the payment by about $25.

I asked for a breakdown of the costs and fees. I'll post them when I get it.

MSRP on this car is $30,785.

X plan is close to invoice which I believe would be about $2,500 less than MRP for the Mustang.

Gotcha.

If I understand it correctly, you also avoid "dealer" fees, as well.

The payments above are without them looking at my credit, so I have to assume they'd be lower once I actually sat down with them.

X-Plan is simple, you get away from all kinds of BS that the dealer can stack on your sales price. Ford requires them to deliver the true invoice to show you the X-Plan cost of the car compared to invoice cost. The only thing I'd say to avoid is their "upsales" on warranties, and all that kinda BS. They do apply any promotional rebates on the car given that everything lines up (like $1,000 Retail Customer Cash, for example).

I bought a 2008 GT with X-Plan and all the configurations and color I wanted (luckily it was inventory), and still received my Rebate.

Gotcha.

I will say if you're keeping the car longer than 3 years, it's smart to buy at least a powertrain warranty. Well, not if you're going to modify the crap out of the car, maybe.

Personally, I had my last extended warranty put a new motor in my Cobra.

extended warranties are fine if you dont want to mod your car. they are a headache if you like to mod the car. some dealers will refuse work and make you do all the leg work to get them to agree to the repair. for some, it may be worth it, for others, not so much.

FYI, Ford wouldn't give me the x-plan with my student rebate, the other rebates worked but not the student.
