Hey guys!

I finally figured out the ticking my car is making is clearly coming from the tranny.

The throwout bearing was really worn.
I thought that would be it...but with the new bearing it's still making the ticking noise.
It's probably coming from inside the tranny...possibly a bearing etc.
I don't have any trouble shifting etc.
It's just the noise.
Clutch and flywheel are also still good.

What's the probability that a rebuild will help?
The guy helping me look at it said I should just start looking for a new tranny.

But I dunno...I'm stationed overseas and sending a tranny over here will cost me a fortune.

What do you guys think?

The sound goes away at WOT...and once you release the gas, as the rpm wind down, you can hear it.
You can also here it as the rpm's go up when you partially give it gas.

Thanks
Patrick

FWIW, we started with getting the reverse pop out issue and some grinding problems corrected on my wife's 01 (T-45), (as well as adding a new clutch kit, etc) ended up haivng to pull the trannie out twice to correct issues, add more new parts, etc and in the end, we could have spend the same moeny and bought a completely rebuilt from Astro Performance. You get to a point (and it's pretty quick with transmission issues) where it's cheaper to replace it. If I had it to do over again, I would have gone to: http://www.astroperformance.com/
