i agree, in my experience, cashflow was a big concern, i bought an '85 t-5 at the j/y for $150 with warranty and used the hard parts i broke in my 87, add in the cost of the rebuild kit, the new input shaft i needed (both i had were ****ed) for $99 and i got a totally rebuilt t-5 for 450 bucks... better than $500 bucks for a used, possibly crap one at the j/y or over $1000 to have a shop rebuild mine and get the hard parts with markup
