Tell me about it. They rebuild good 305's and 350's, but after this whole fiasko, I wouldn't reccomend them for any late model. I tried to tell him to go with a DSS or SHM, but he wanted this engine. Oh well

Have an intervention for stupity.

If I'm gettting a new engine, I'm going with a well known builder...not some half-assed dude who puts any number down for TQ

Trust me, I tried. The kid is 19 and his mom has been doing his negotiating. I guess she doesn't want him to have "so much power". It's truely rediculous. Usually I figure, if they want it, i'm going to sell it. In this case, i've tried my best to get the kid in the right direction, but him and his mother are set on this Recon engine.

10 bucks says they blame you when it either 1) Dyno's waaaaaay lower then specs or 2) Blows up

HAve an intervention for being a momma's boy. His mom is doing the negotiating? Take his keys too....

Edit - Hell I'll drive up on my way to TN this weekend and take his keys myself

At this point, all he cares about is getting the thing running. It's out of my hands now.

He also ran a 15.3 in the same car. He garantees no one could do any better than that. Trust me, he's not worth any more hassle than i've already tried

Yup..... He's clueless. I gave him the newest MM&FF in hopes he might learn something from that.

I've never heard of recon? And you can only go .020 over bore on the 4.6 2V (making it a 302 roughly). Someone pulled a fast one on your boy.

Uhhhhhhhhhh where do you get that information?? I have gone 0.034 over on my brand new 2v iron block which makes it a 286ci. Your information is absolutely incorrect.
