Recovering Steering Wheel

Has anyone tried to recover their steering wheel?
Mine has 120,000 miles of use and a previous owner with a ring that gouged it. A new one is very costly, and the Ford racing one is the wrong color.
There's a place in California selling leather wraps--the kind that lace on.
Not sure if there is an exact color match for my tan interior, but have sent for free sample.
Anyone tried it?
Or is there another fix?

There was a guy on here a while back who ordered a leather steering wheel cover from www.wheelskins.com, and he said that it fit perfectly and the color match was right-on. I'll be going this route whenever I have time to work on the car again.

You could just get a new FR500 wheel. There like $200 but its all nice and new. You would probably spend close to that recovering your current one at a interior shop. Or you can do like me and dump the airbag and get an aftermarket wheel, like momo.

i got a black leather wheel out of a 98 cobra off ebay for $30.

i will be going the fr500 wheel as well... its SO sweet! my def suggestion there Al!
