i have decided to build a real strong 302 setup, based on a handful of aspects. i currently have tfs h/c/i. old casting unmarked tfs heads, stage 1 cam, streetheat intake. i'm basically feeling out how much hp i have to gain here, while being able to drive it comfortably.
i dont want power at 4k-6k only and a laggy powerband otherwise. its a manual car with 4:10's.
im looking to get the fast as cast 170cc heads. would there be a better head? i've never directly read any comparison to old tfs heads and these. can anyone give me a rough gain expectation on these alone?
for my intake, i'm thinking systemax. cam, either custom or comp cam ots "custom". i just dyno'd at 29x rwhp on a mustang dyno. supposively its stingy. i think its just true numbers. so it runs good, but i'm searching for another 40 rwhp on that.
will i be disappointed when this is all over? with me wanting 40 rwhp/comparible torque gains? i'm also planning on going from shorty to LT headers. i'll have a good oppertunity to install them with this project.
