I have a 95 gt with cai, 70mm TB, mac duals, edlebrock intake and 3.73 gears. The owners manual says regular gas. The guy I bought it from said he used premium. The plugs are light grey (almost white) and 1 plug was coated with an ashy build up (i dont know if the plug issue is related. The car hasnt used any oil since i bought it 1000 km ago. The timing was at 3 degrees. It is at 10 now, I might try a little higher depending on whether I keep running premium and the price of gas, lol. Any thoughts?

Timing was only at 3*? Yikes.

Try regular. If it knocks, then either back timing out of it or run premium.

I have basically the same mods as you and I run regular gas with 14* timing. I kow every car is different but I think you can probably run a little more timing with regular and get away with it. However on race days, throw some premium in just in case.

If that is all your set at you should have no problems running the regular, but as Joe said, just try it and seeif she knocks.

Regular is fine. As long as it's not detonating, there is nothing to worry about. If you get a tank of gas and it detonates a little bit, just back off the timing till you burn through it. If you don't have the mods to take advantage of higher octane gas, it is a waste of money.
