Hello everyone,

I am thinking about buying a 2003 or 2004 Mustang GT. This will be my first Mustang ever. I was wanting to know if there are any major issues with these year model Mustangs? After having continuous problems with the transmission on my Explorer, I dont want to buy something that is not going to give me problems and cost alot of money to fix right off of the bat or down the road.

I had a Camaro for several years wthout ANY problems at all, so Im looking for something just as reliable. Thanks for any info you can give. I look forward to hearing your feedback.

Michael

I have a 2002 and I have had zero problems so far. What year Camaro did you have? My dad had a 2000 SS and it had no problems but that car was made so cheap it was ridiculous. Welcome to stangnet and good luck on getting your new Mustang.

Hi, I've had 2 different mustang GT's, I'm keeping the one I have now, I absolutely love 'em, I think they are awesome cars, always been dependable, and being a Ford, of course, they are well-built.

Hope I've been of some help.

It was a 1990 RS 305 V8. After having the problems with the Explorer, I really regret getting rid of it . Anyway, thats why Im looking at Mustangs now. If any others have opinions or comments, please post.

Thanks!

the only common problems with Mustang GT's (usually after 75k miles) is the Idle Air Control which I hear is easy to replace or clean.

My 02 GT 5sd conv is more reliable than I am. It's been a real pleasure so far. March 05 will be 3years 19,000mi. Try to get one with low mileage with some warranty. Good luck..these are fun cars.
