is it possible to move the a/c, fan speed knobs and stuff, and move then underneath the radio? id use the knob location for holding some gauges.

Thats exactly what i did, i havent made the knobs fit permanently down there, i just kinda squeeze it in there and it holds. Once in awhile it comes out though. U just gotta take out the radio and the knobs and panel, and move everything down.
Its really easy, i have summits digital gauge in there...i love it. I need to get some pics up

Take the trim off, get the radio out, then take off the a/c panel and u will see how u take out the screws to disconnect all the lines for the switches on the back, then just run the lines down to the bottom, hook everything back up and either sandwich the a/c panel into the window or figure out a way to mount it.
Here is a pic of mine when everything was still kinda in pieces...u can see the gauge from summit up above in the old a/c panel slot....its black when off and lights up with blue digital numbers for volts, oil pressure, and water temp. I love it. It matches my radio and STOCK FACED speedogauge perfectly since i replaced the lights behind the speed with LED lights so it lights up a real nice Blue now. And the summit piece even has warning lights for high and low readings.

awesome, nate!! you gottagive us waaay more info on the l.e.d.'s , though! which ones did you use? how did you soldier them into the guage bezel? i hate the alien-green light ford uses for our guages/clock! thanks!

They fight right into place of the stock ones. No modding necessary. The actual bulb is bigger than the stock bulb since its a LED, so it barely fits through the holes in the back of the bezel, but its a simple plug and play kind of thing.

Where did u screw it into? I've been using the sandwich method which is a temporary fix. Did u screw from the front?

I searched on ebay and couldnt find them. Thats why i posted up that other link where that guy did it in the 4.6 section.
I want to say its about 6 or 7 bulbs on the back. The clock will not work due to the fact that its a digital display...its not "back lit" like the gauges...atleast i dont think it is.
Check out that thread, that should get you in the right direction. The thread i used was before the crash i think...so i dont think its around anymore. crapola

Look around for the best deal, some people sell them in 2s, but i think i did pay ~$20 for all of them. I just looked at it as being a cheap gauge overlay since i like the black background...just not the green lights. I had white gauges but i prefer my black/silver/blue theme i have going in the car.

I stopped being lazy and went to look at that thread...he did use the same LED's as i did. But he used Blue....where as i used Clear. Mine came out looking blue like his...i would be willing to bet mine would be "brighter" but cant really tell from the pics.
Cause the gauge DOES have a color in it to make it green cause the stock bulbs are clear...they are just more of a yellow light i think. When the pure white light hits it, its blue.
