That was really good thanks for the link. It seems that every year that goes by 11,11 means less and less to society. Hell at Can tire it was business as usual.... That really didn't sit well with me, kind of like they didn't even recognize the concept. Wasn't it illegal back in the day to be open on rememberance day?

Sad thing is my resturant where I work (redlobster) when turned about 600 people through out the day.

When I was in school in the late 40's and 50's on Nov 11th we went to school as usual but at 11:00
we all observed 2 min of silence.
As did everyone else in Vancouver,the place came to a grinding halt for two min at 11 oclock.
It wasn't a Holiday,everyone worked and went to school,but I think that two min of silence meant more to people than it does today having the whole day off.

Then there's those clowns who work and then take the Fri or the Mon off,That one really turns my crank.

Armistice Day (Remembrance Day) is a day for thanking the people who went out and made sure all us young snots could live in freedom and have and do what we want.

It is so important that we remember what the day is really about. It is about our freedom, our ability to speak our minds and live our lives. Without those that fought for us and died for us our country could be very different. God bless those men and women who were willing to put their lives on the line so that we can enjoy each and every day.
