It was optional. My car, for example, has every option available for a 1995 GT *except* keyless entry. It seems that some early '95 Mustangs and all '94 Mustangs were max-wired, so even if you don't have keyless entry it might be possible to retrofit it easily. You can find out if you have keyless entry by pulling up on the exterior driver side door handle with it locked, and look to see if the dome light comes on. If it does, you have keyless entry. If the dome light doesn't come on until you actually open the door, then the module is not installed.

yeah use the locked door trick to find out if the car had it installed.....if so, you can go to Ford and get new ones...or Autozone just started selling replacement keyless entry remotes....

I bought mine off of a guy on ebay. They were brand new ones for $21.99 plus some shipping. They came with good instructions too.

it is the same for verts, right? i assume the "dome" light in my case is the ones on the bottom of the rear view mirror?

cause they don't come on when it is locked and i pull up on the driver's door handle.

i guess the guy i bought it from wasn't lying after all, but i'm still pissed.

well sadly my gt is like absolute base, no power anything, how much would it be to get a keyless entry system installed [maybe with an alarm]? or is it pretty easy to install so i could do it myself?

Umm,

Interesting.

I have an aftermarket alarm built into my keyless remote - engine kill switch, 30 second unlock timer, etc. etc. As for the trick - haven't tried it on my vert - but I'm positive the keyless came installed with the car since I still have the original remote - I would suggest adding a new alarm system if you go keyless - it usually accompanies it anyways. The possibilities are endless - I need some motion sensors up in there!

Summitt Racing has alarm/keyless entry systems for like 50-200 bucks that I've seen before.

Does it have a spoiler? If not, you have a GTS.

It's a bit more than that, especially since GTS models were available with lots of options, and could pretty much become regular GT's in the process. Go to Hillie's site, he has all the differences listed.

I am familiar with Hillie's site, I was just being lazy.

:OT: I now see why you are selling your GT. I can't say I like that but I like why you're doing it.
