For thos of yall who have flipped their quad shocks, were there any clearance issues with the rear shocks. I got my shocks/struts/springs installed(looks awesome:D) and asked my mechanic to flip the quad shocks for me, but when he tried, the fatter part(shielded) was now touching the rear shock:nonono: Did anyone have this problem, I wanted to flip it so that I would have no issues when installing my 335s, Is removing it or cutting the shield off the fat part OK, any help would be appreciated

My car is a 99GT Vert 18X10s rear, thanks

I have KYB quad shocks, and IIRC, I had to put the open sleeved part (fattest part) towards the rear of the car. ('99 GT coupe)

It's been a while since I installed the quad shocks, but I do think the stockers had the "fat" part of the shock toward the front of the car.

Of course, there were no directions with my KYB's - not that I can read Japanese - and there's no sense in complaining - KYB guys may not be able to read English !

yea...just take them off. Me as well as alot of others have done this with no issues at all. :nice:

I believe you.

But, why would Ford put quad shocks on thousands of Mustangs over the years ? Anybody know ?

I have heard that putting on aftermarket rear control arms makes the quad shocks redundant...

You are in Michigan - why not suggest to Ford management to make the Mustangs without quads and you may collect $$$ through their suggestion program ? :)
