Remove Hood Scoop

I have a 2008 GT with a factory installed hood scoop and spoiler. If possible I'd like to have a body shop remove the scoop. However, I'm thinking it is bolted onto the hood and removal will leave holes. I don't know a lot about what kinds of things can be repaired by body shops.

Would they be able to fill in the holes and repaint? Or would I have to buy a replacement hood without holes that is then painted to match?

The hood scoop is bolted to the hood in 4 places. The body shop will need to use filler in the holes and repaint the entire hood.

Maybe you could find someone with the same color car with no scoop who would trade hoods with you, It would be a lot easier and cheaper. Most people who don't have one want one.
