removed spoiler...now what to plug holes/how to clean

i just spent the 2minutes it takes to remove the spoiler and decided i wanna go without it at least for a little while. what do i use to plug up the holes now so i dont have gaping holes and what should i use to clean this nastiness? good soapy wash and a clay bar-ing maybe?

You can get some plastic plugs at Home Depot and for the ugly, crappy mess under the spoiler, i used GS-27 Scratch remover. It worked really well and i just did a quick wax afterwards. Got rid of everything and even a few small scratches.

If you want a brighter look, you can use some flat-topped lag bolts.

To plug the holes you can use some carriage bolts from a hardware store with some small rubber o-rings. Paint the carriage bolts if desired.

For a "stealth look," try this:

Get some vinyl circles from a sign shop, the type that makes plastic banner (any shop should have them). Have them cut slightly larger than the holes themselves.

Get some factory touch up paint from Ford. Paint the circles while they are still attached to the paper beneath them. Let the paint dry, then carefully peel the circles off then stick them to the trunk lid.

You have to look really close to see that there wasn't a spoiler at all.

Just get 3/8" and 5/16" plugs from any fastener supplier, Lowe's, HD, local bolt & screw supply and press them in. You can even find chrome ones if you look around...

I had mine filled and painted along with the holes behind the blue oval... and love the look...
