Just wondering what the best way to remove the bead running horizontally in the middle of my doors was. I don't know if its held on by the same 2-way tape as the badges. I am concerned I may pull paint off. Just curious if someone could give me a quick go or no go on whether I can just pull it off or if there was a special technique I should use. Thanks.

It's on there pretty good. I had mine removed when I had my body work done, and there was a paintless strip left in its wake. I was also getting my car repainted so they may have tore them off carelessly.

They had those one '94-'98's?

They way I've done badges is with a heat gun and dental floss. It leaves some adhesive on the paint, but makes sure the paint doesn't get pulled off. Then all you have to do is remove the adhesive with Goo Gone.
What color and year is your car? Some people have said the paint under the strip has been darker than the rest of their cars, but I think most colors should be able to be buffed out.

My car is a 2002 mineral grey...the grey with the gold undertone, I am 99% postive that is what mineral grey is.

So the bead is on with the same 2-way tape that the badges are on with?

Tell us how it works out and if there was any paint difference.

No problem.

You should be okay on Mineral Grey. Most of the stories I've heard about the paint being different were on darker colors, like True Blue, Lazer Red, and Black(whatever Ford's black is called).

i just used a hair dryer when I took them stupid "door ding" strips off my car, out in the sun on a arm summer day, just heated them up and started pulling. Just had to remove excess adheisive and buff it out. MY car is Dark Green, and was......5 years old at the time, no piant deffects at all.
