I got an Ebay dash today and the guy didn't use any padding when he shipped it. So theres a 3 inch indentation line on it. Anyone know how to fix that?

A hair dryer would probably help, or maybe see if you can leave it out in the sun all day (but that kinda depends on where you live this time of year) I had a 1971 Torino GT that i put a new (junkyard) dash in that had some dents in it from stuff sitting on the dash, and over time with exposure to heat from the sun, they slowly went away.

I've already e-mailed him and gave him the opportunity to make this right. We'll see. The thing is, he said "it will be very well protected" BS!

I tried the hairdryer idea with no luck. But then again it was in a 45 degree garage. I wanted to try a heat gun but I'm afraid of melting the dash. I may just put it in as is and let it sit outside next summer and see what happens.

You could try a piece of cloth over the top with a small Iron ( the ones that come in the vinyl repair kits are great) and if its real deep I've used in my old Caddy a hyperdermic needle filled with epoxy...went in through an unnoticable area (just a pin hole anyway)and squeezed in the epoxy inside wher the dent was....sounds weird but it worked.

Will any epoxy work? What happens when the dash gets hot in the summer?
