Removing Distributor

What do I have to do to get the distributor out. I see what some tab with a bolt on it that looks like it is the only thing holding it down. Do I just unscrew that, mark everything, and pull out?

I searched, but you can't search for "distributor"

Undo the distributor bolt. Remove the cap. Make sure to mark the place of the rotor when you remove the distributor, or else you could be in trouble.

Remember, when the distributor is out of the motor, DO NOT turn the motor over.

A small piece of advice.....when you pull the dist out,pull it as straight up as possible and then look down hole to make sure oil pump drive didnt fall out of pump.....dosnt usally happen but it can.

I always rotate my motor to TDC #1 cylinder before i pull it out. Its a million times easier that way.

Yes make sure you are @ TDC before you pull it out.
