87 gt i want to take off the existing doors but leave the hinges, how do you cut the pins and remove the doors without remving the hinges, they are tapered and mushroomed, please let me know.... Is there anything else i need to do when putting on a new set of doors? wiring ect? Thanks

Removing the door pins is pretty simple. Just cut them in half with a dremel and pound them out with a chisel. It helps to have a friend there to help lift the door off and to line it back up when you are ready to install the new pins. Also when I changed my door pins I taped some pieces I cut off of an old towel over the edge of my fender and the edge of my door so that I didn't nick the paint.

I just did this on my escort a few weeks ago. I used a diegrinder and ground the top of the pin off, then beat the pin out. New pins and bushings for one side cost me about $25. When did this on my first mustang (years ago) I think I used a hack saw and vice grips. cut the pin, connect the vice grips to the pin and beat on it with a hammer
