I got the foglights for my car and i want to put new bulbs in and i dont know how to. it seems like you have to take the entire lens off but i tried it on a old foglight i had for my car before i bought the 2 new ones and i broke the top black tab.

glass lens are glued on, if lens are scratched and pitted it would be better for you to spend the $35 for each whole fog lamp assembly.

if not, start to break the glue seal and work slowly all way around using small flat head screw driver and possibly sharp knife. Have bandaids around...

Pry the tab on the top up slightly and it will release the lens assembly. Tilt it forward and undo the wires and pull it out. Then just undo the clips on the back to release the bulb. If the tab breaks off, your prying it too far or its rusted and ready to break anyway.

Remove the bolt that secures the fog light assembly to the body. Then you can clearly see all the parts of the clip & spring ding thing that holds the lens on. It is much easier to do that way, you don't have to struggle to get everything just right when you put it back together.

Stick with the original style 55 watt bulbs. There are some 110 watt bulbs, but they will draw too much current and fry the stock wiring. I replaced the stock wiring with 12 gauge wire and used a relay, so the 110 watt bulbs are a reasonable option in my car. The relay & 12 gauge wire made the stock light bulbs brighter since there is very little voltage drop in the wiring.

I also recommend the corral foglight fix if you haven't already done it. SEE http://www.corral.net/tech/maintenance/foglights.html. The stock wiring isn't up to the job and is overheating. The headlight switch & turn/multifunction switch are affected by Ford's wiring problem. Sometimes it overheats so badly that the plastic shells of the wiring connectors start to melt. This will show you how to add a relay to the fog lights to relieve the overload on the headlight wiring.
