removing lower control arm balljoint

Well got all my suspension off no problems was preety easy to break free.

Im trying to determine what size the bolt holes are for the lower control arm ball joint assembly if anyone knows off hand?
also if anyone has a good way of removing the original rivets ?

Why? It's a lot less hassle to just replace the whole arm. The new ones come with the ball joint and pivot bushings already installed.

To remove the rivets , they have to be cut off. The cutting method is your choice, torch, grinder, hack saw, etc. Have fun. Bolt size will be 5/16 most likely.

i was doing this about 2 weeks ago, i went to my haynes manual and it said not to replace the ball joints and to rather buy the entire arm. And thats what i did saved me the hassle of getting those damn things out.

You can drill out the rivets with a 5/16 bit.

where are you going to find a ball joint after you get it out? most part stores sell the whole arm

you can try and drill them, but might be fun, im replacing the whole arm aswell

Check out laurelmountian mustang, pretty inexpensive there

well already stripped them drilled them and dipped them then primed today so guess I can still go either route
never really noticed how close the price is for complete vs rebuilding but does make ya think
