removing poly bushings from rear end. any tips?

i am going to install my UCAs tom. and i need to remove the poly bushings i currently have in the housing. i was wondering if anybody had any tips? i was reading that when removing the stock rubber bushings to use a drill and walk it around the outside, but what about with poly bushings? i was thinking that i would just use a lot of WD-40 and an air hammer. any input is appreciated.

are the poly bushings installed in the stock bushing shells? i replaced my stock ones last month with replacements from Ford (as per MM's recommendations with their LCA's) and ended-up getting the tool MM sells to remove them. Takes patience and about 30 minutes to remove and install a new bushing per side, but for the other side I used an impact wrench with the tool and had it swapped in 10 minutes. I"m not sure how I would have done it without that tool, but an air hammer might be the ticket. They're in there real tight I ended-up stripping the threads a bit on the tool from the amount of torque required to press them out. Good luck

that is a good question. i did not put the poly bushings in, so i will have to check that out. also i did see that tool, but was hoping that maybe the poly bushings may be easier to get out, since they wont conpress and distort as much as the stock ones? i have only had the polys in for 6 months, if that matters at all.

I torched out all my factory bushings...

i bought new UCAs with solid spherical bushings

might be easier to get new rubber ones and drill them out of the shell. it will cost you about $15 for the 2 but it might be easier

btw, i am assuming the sphericals use the shell also. the polys definetly do. if you dont have the tool to press them in and out its going to be a pita.
