I have a 1998 mustang convertible with a damaged shift bezel. I have the new bezel, but can't install it because I can't remove the shift knob. This is an automatic and knob will not screw off. Does anyone know how to remove the shift knob?
If the elder modle stangs are like the new ones such as my 2002 then there will be an allen screw holding the shifter on. On my 2002 it was located on the front side, twards the dash. After you unscrew this you should be able to pull the knob off with a twisting motion.
