Hey everyone!

Any harm in just removing the smog only? I'm looking at replacing my bbk h pipe with either a VRS or a Lar performance one. Neither of them offer the air inlet tube for smog connection.

I plan on keeping the EGR intact.

Thank you!

Other then a stinky exhaust not really, you can cap the Thermactor tube or just remove it and plug the heads, kind of pointless with modern cats any way and definitely is without them.

Thank you. I thought about going with a hi flow catted mid pipe. But my understanding is, the smog system works better with it intact. Unfortunately, both manufacturers don't have the air tube welded on their catted mid pipe, nor their o/r h pipe for that matter.

3-Way, hi-flow catalytic converters do not require an air tube or a smog pump.

You still get the benefit of cutting down on the gas/exhaust smell.

Okay thank you. I was under the impression from what I've researched, that without the air tube the catalytic converters don't function correctly.

If they still function correctly, I may order the catted version from VRS and delete the smog.

Big money but the Magnaflow catted xpipe has the provision for the smog tube if you really wanted to keep everything. I wasn’t sure if you wanted to keep all the smog stuff and were only planning on deleting it due to the midpipe not having the provision.

Yeah the bbk catted one has it too. That's 600 dollars, but I've heard mixed reviews on that one.

How was the fit though? That's what I've heard mixed reviews on.

What headers and cat back exhaust are you running? My car also has a AOD.

Fit and finish was great with my BBK headers and SLP loudmouth cat back. No leaks.

Thank you. Maybe I'll go that route. Waiting to hear back from VRS first.
