How can this be done? What special tools do I need to do this. I have a pioneer 7500 sitting here on my desk. I have heard that I need to rewire the entire system. I have an 04 GT. I just want to replace the HU and maybe the front speakers. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure the 04 has the four holes on the corners of the HU. You need a removal tool from Walmart or someplace like that. It is two 'U' shaped pieces that fit into the holes. I tried the two pieces of coat hanger like some suggested but I couldn't get that to work.

Next, if the 04 Mach is the same as my 96, you will need a wiring harnness and line adjust from Schonse. Walmart used to carry them but I don't know if they still do. The part number for the harness is FDK 10 and the adjuster is SLC4 I believe. Check http://www.scosche-cars.com/ to see what is for your car. Call them to make sure...there tech support is real helpful.

For my 03 cobra all I had to do is remove the shifter boot w/ trim around shifter, remove trim around HU & A/C, then unscrew 2 bolts on bottom of HU. Thats it.

that's how it's done - about a 3 minute job. 2 10mm (I think) bolts hold the unit in.
