Removing Trunklid Badge (need a couple of pointers)

Okay, I plan on putting a different trunklid badge on and removing the GT badge. I have done this on another Mustang I used to own. Its been awhile and I am a tad paraniod about scratching my baby.

Any pointers or helpful hints??? Thanks guys

Get out the hair dryer and heat up the adheasive, then twist and pull it off. You can use a good liquid wax or WD40 to remove the rest of the goo left behind.

Thanks alot for the quick replies fellas. Will go get a bit of fishing line from the shop here and make it happen right quick. (as in this weekend)

Oh yeah, bought a 99 Explorer V8 badge for trunklid

i used a screwdriver on the back of the badge.. snapped right off!

btw it was a hot day and the car was left in the sun on purpose. the screwdriver had a piece of soft cloth on it's head..

i used dental floss. it is smaller than fishing line and faster!

Do NOT use a screwdriver!!!! It'll mess up your paint and leave dents if you try and pry with it, even with a cloth!

Like others said, heat it up, use dental floss or round fishing wire, then it'll basically fall off.

ehhe... forgot to clear out that i had used a bit of fishing line prior to using screwdriver...

I have used both floss and fishing line. To me I prefer the floss. just my .02 cents

I used my manly strength and strong fingers and just pulled my fender badges right off.
