Right in the middle of this crappy weather my windshield wiper "on/off" knob decides to strip itself. Now, anytime the ignition is RUN position, the wiper motor turns on, and the interior Knob can be moved back and forth freely without making contact with anything. I've read the Haynes manual several times through and they basically skip right over the knob mechanism replacement. MY QUESTION is this, how the hell does one go about changing the wiper motor knob? Can it be pulled out with force like the cigarette knob? or is there a trick to it? I would really appreciate a quick response on this one since i'me suppose to drive home tomorrow (60 miles) in the rain......arrgg

it would help if you told us what car and what came off...if it is just the knob, it uses a small allen wrench, if the whole thing came apart, there are some screw on the back side if i remember right
