replace front frame rail

my drivers side front frame rail is rusted pretty bad. whats the best way to remove it ? also, there's another piece right next to it on the outside that is severely rusted. can someone tell me what it is called so i can order a new one and the best way to get it off. thanks hope the pictures work. if not, they are in " my garage "

The unknown part is a "torque box". The best way to remove all that stuff, if you want to be able to recreate a factory appearance, is to drill all the spot welds out. A regular drill bit works OK, but a good tool store will be able to sell you a specialized bit for this purpose. You can then weld the new metal back in the same way.
 
Oh, BTW, the rail right there by the torque box technically isn't the front frame rail, it's called the "inner floor frame support". The front frame rail is the part that runs from the firewall forward. This may help you out on the phone with a vendor.
