replaced timing belt now just pops and no start

I bought this 1994 ranger 2.3 with a broken timing belt replaced it now it just pops i have checked the belt like 30 times today starting over each time what could be wrong?

check your distributor timing also( if it has a distributor) if you have coil packs then i dunno deff sounds like a timing issue put everything on t.d.c. then pull off you distrib cap and see where the rotor button is pointing to you firing order is 1342 make sure all is correct

I finally got it right some reason ford used triangles and diamonds on the cam backing plate and i was using the wrong marks to time it
