Ok, I had a crazy system in my last car. It didnt have a Mach 460. really easy to do up. Now my GT has this gay Mach 460 unit, which sucks. I already blew a speaker. So, time to put in a new system. I got a Alpine 9815, going in. I know I need a Special wiring harness. Im replacing all the speakers, and running them with a 4 channel amp. Im running 2 12'' subs with a mono amp also. Question is. Can I remove the mach amp from under my rear deck? If I rewire everything, do I need the special harness? And how can I reuse the tweeters? What do I wire them too?

First off, if you are redoing all the wiring and going through a four channel, and getting a new head unit and all new speakers, please please please dont reuse the stock tweeters! Those things suck, get two sets of components, or if you cant afford that, just take out the tweeters and get a nice set of 2 way speakers with a tweeter that rotates (like the infinity kappas). Thats the route I went. You still need a wiring harness, but you just wont end up using like 3/4 of the wires. You still will need the wires for power, ground, illumination, etc, but you will not need the wires for front and rear speakers because those will be wired through your 4 channel, so that connection will just be a red and white signal cable to the back of the head unit. Oh and yes you can remove the stock amp if you are getting a 4 channel, because if you are not using it, its just more dead weight. I had two stock amps in my mach 460 vert, and I pulled them both out when I wired my 4 channel. Hope that helps a little, if you need any other help just ask, I look in Sound and Shine for new posts on a day to day basis.

I recently pulled out my entire mach 460 set up becuase I was having so much problems with it and I kinda wanted something that sounded better anyway. Myearshurt pretty much covered everything. I don't know if the setup was different throughout the years, but on my 2000, there were the 2 amps in the back that were both powered by a bigger amp in the front under the CD player, yank that as well
