theres a chip inside that has factory anti-theft and mileage programmed into it. you need to swap that from your old one to the new one

Yeah its PATS causing the conflict. You need to pull the back board and the milage board out of your old one and swap it to the new one. I had to do the same thing when I swaped to cobra gauges in my 02

options

tow it to dealership and have them program your car for the new PATS

buy a completely new gauge cluster (never used)

get a custom tune with PATS disabled

I don't think it's a chip. I think you have to swap out the back circut board. So if you broke the chip on the one you just bought it should be OK because you just swap the back board from your old one into the new one. That is if the new one is like the stocker. I'm not sure what type of gauges you bought.

I haven't done this yet but I've been looking into it because I'm going to swap to a Mach 1 cluster and I was under the assumption that you had to change the back green board. I hope this works for you. Here's what I mean.

Take off the white plastic then

Then swap the green board. Like I said, I hope I'm right and that it works out for you.
